another settler before 1781.  In 1787, Charles and Samuel Pringle

surveyed a raod from Beverly in Randolph County VA to present day

County.  Harrison County VA (WV) Marriage Bond Book 1, p.231,

records an April 30, 1796 marriage bond for Charles Parsons and

"Nancy Ann Sleeth, late widow of John Sleeth."  Nancy was a

daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Flesher and was born on the South

Branch of the Potomac near the Hardy-Pendleton County line.

Henry Flesher's will, probated in February 1803, proves that

Charles owned land at the confluence of the West Fork river and

Coal Creek as the line runs joining lands with Charles Parsons.
