  • Wi-Fi available Password will be placed in packet.
  • You may use the kitchen microwave to warm your food and use the fridge to store your food.  Please put your name on your food.
  • Donuts, coffee, tea, other light refreshments will be available Thursday and Friday, located in the back room
Thursday: August 9, 2018
10:00 a.m.   Library opens. You can register for Gathering and do research. Any of the volunteers will                                     be happy to assist you.
 12:00 PM   Lunch is on your own. You are welcome to use kitchen to heat up food, or use fridge to store your food.  Library remains open for research. 
5:30 p.m.   Please bring a covered dish (with food in it, of course!) Meat will be supplied by HCPD   
6:30 p.m.   Introductions; Announcements for Friday; Meet & Greet.
Friday: August 10, 2018
8:30 a.m.    Library opens. You can register and pick up you packet and pictures will be taken.
10:30 a.m.  Workshop:  Navigating the HCPD web site                    
12:00 p.m.  Lunch:  We will eat left over’s if we have any, or do a pizza run. If you prefer, you may visit your choice of restaurants.       
1:00 p.m.   You are welcome to research, visit, compare notes and ask questions. Volunteers are available to assist you.  Patty can assist you with HCPD website and other websites.
5:00 P.M   Library will close, so those attending Banquet can prepare for the Banquet.
6:00 p.m.   The Memorial Service will be held at the Broad Street Methodist Church.  The Banquet and Awards Ceremony will start promptly at 6:30PM after the Memorial Service. PLEASE remember to register before July 27, 2018. We need an approximate head count to order the dinners, of chicken or steak.                                         
Saturday, August 11, 2018
8:30 a.m.     Library opens for research.  You may also work on a project for our librarian Audrey.
9:00 a.m.     Leave for the tour of Roanoke area and cemeteries
12:00 p.m.   Lunch:  Pork Barbeque sandwiches, or Chicken Salad, cole slaw, bake beans, chips, dessert and soft drinks for sale by HCPD.  If you prefer, you may visit one of restaurants in the area.
1:00 p.m.     Annual Business Meeting
5:30 p.m.   You are welcome to dine at The Steak House, a room is reserved. You will select your meal and pay there.                                   
8:00 PM     The library will remain open until 8PM for all that want to research and connect with other researchers.

You are welcome to attend a church of your choice, or the church that will be announced during the Gathering.
 NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS!  Please pre-register for the banquet held on Friday, August 10, 2018.  YOU NEED TO PRE-REGISTER BY July 27, 2018.   Choose either chicken or steak.
 Camp sites are available at the library, at Broken Wheel Campground (5 miles from library) (phone 304.269.6097) & at Stonewall Jackson Lake, ask for camping (phone 304. 269.7400).
