married Mariah Allen in 1834. Mariah was born in 1804.

Salathiel Johnson Newlon, a son of John and Mariah (Allen) Newlon,

was born in 1839 and died in 1908. He served as a Corporal in the

Union Army during the Civil War.

Salathiel married Lydia Bartlett in 1863. Lydia was born in 1846

and died in 1937.

The Newlon family moved from Taylor County WV to Roane County WV

in 1883.

George Baxter "Bash" Newlon, a son of Salathiel Johnson and Lydia

(Bartlett) Newlon, was born in 1870 and died in 1957. He married

Ethel Alice Fox April 1, 1900. Ethel, a daughter Jarrett Newton and

Mary Ann (McInturff) Fox, was born November 14, 1881 and died in 1955.

Alice (Fox) Newlon, was born April 6, 1919. He married Sarah Evelyn

Dotson August 9, 1941. Sarah, a daughter of W.D. Dotson, was born May

11, 1923.
