William Larkin Pierpoint, a son of Larkin and Jane (Dunn)

Pierpoint, was born in Monongalia County VA June 16, 1819 and died in

Linn County OR August 10, 1897. He married Elizabeth Wells January 14,

1841. Elizabeth, a daughter of Joseph and Amy (Spragg) Wells, was born

in PA January 8, 1821 and died in Linn County December 25, 1893.

The family apparently moved from Tyler Country VA to OR after the

Civil War.

Christopher Joseph Pierpoint, a son of William Larkin and Elizabeth

(Wells) Pierpoint, was born in Tyler County VA February 13, 1855 and

died there May 25, 1907. He married Elizabeth Sarah "Sadie" Stump in

Gilmer County WV February 22, 1879. Elizabeth, a daughter of Anderson

and Elizabeth (Snider) Stump, was born in Gilmer County May 6, 1861 and

died in Wetzel County WV July 26, 1955.

The couple separated about 1899 and Joseph lived in Tyler County WV

while Elizabeth lived with her daughter Ida Columbia (Pierpoint) Steele

in Wetzel County.
