The present day Quickle family line traces back to the immigrant

George Quickel.

1.GEORGE QUICKEL

George Quickel is believed to have been born in Neunkirchen,

Germany. He emigrated to PA in 1736 and married Anna Ursula Mueller

April 23, 1739 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster County PA.

Known children of George and Anna Ursula (Mueller) Quickel.

Johann Adam Quickel, a son of George and Anna Ursula (Mueller)

Quickel, was born in Lancaster County PA September 28, 1750 and died

in Allegheney County VA about 1745. He was baptized in Trinity

Lutheran Church in Lancaster County October 24, 1750.

Johann served in the American Revolution in Captain Benjamin

Smith's Company 1.

His wife is listed in various records and Anna Barbara, Maria

Barbara and Maria. She died before 1810.

Johann Adam Quickel Jr., a son of Johann Adam and Anna Barbara

Quickel, was born in York County PA September 21, 1778 and was

baptized in Quickel's Church in York County January 10, 1779. He died

in Allegheny County VA before August 1866.

He married Mary ------. Mary was born about 1783 and died after

1866.

Margaret was born in VA about 1844 and died after 1860.

William Harrison Quickel, a son of Johann Adam Jr. and Mary Quickel, was born in Botetourt County VA June 7, 1816 and died in Braxton County WV September 8, 1897. He married Elizabeth Persinger in Botetourt County November 8, 1837. Elizabeth, a daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Stickleman) Persinger, was born about 1818 and died about 1840.

William married Margaret Catherine (Sively) Jameson about 1841. Margaret, a daughter of George and Mary (Lamb) Sively, was born in Alleghany County VA June 27, 1808 and died in Braxton County WV September 18, 1882. She married Benjamin P. Jameson in Alleghany County February 12, 1833.

The family was enumerated in the 1850 Alleghany County VA census

July 25, 1850.

Catherine Persinger, was born in VA about 1842.

Mary Caroline Quickel, a daughter of William Harrison and Margaret

Catherine Quickel, was born in Allegheney Co VA, November 23, 1845.

She married Calvin Heater in Braxton County WV May 31, 1966. Calvin,

a son of Christian and Nancy (Donahue) Heater, was born in Braxton

County January 4, 1834. He apparently served the Confederacy in the

Civil War, since he was confined in the Federal prison, Camp Chase, at

Columbus, Ohio.

Known children of Calvin and Mary M. (Quickel) Heater.

Virginia Catharine Quickle, a daughter of William Henry and

Margaret Catherine Quickel, was born in Alleghany County VA June 14,

1848 and died in Nicholas County July 6, 1889. She married George

Henry Whytsell in Braxton County WV September 5, 1867. George, a son

of Emanuel H. and Catherine (Whitezel) Whytsell, was born in

Rockingham County VA May 12, 1847 and died in Nicholas County WV

December 21, 1937. George married Nancy Jane Jones about 1890.
