John Shaw, a son of Samuel and Mary (Green) Shaw, was born in VA
about 1822. He married Bythenaa (Tatterson) Vincent.
The family reportedly built a home is Upshur County in 1869 and
moved there. However, they don't appear in the 1870 Upshur County WV

Thomas Joshua Shaw, a son of John and Bythena (Tatterson)
[Vincent] Shaw, was born in Taylor County VA Janaury 1, 1850 and died in
Randolph County WV in August 1933. He married Minerva Jane Fisher May
27, 1875. Minerva, daughter of David and Lydia Fisher, was born in VA
about 1840 and died in 1892.
Thomas worked as a millwright and carpenter on the construction
of the Weston State Hospital for the State of VA before the Civil War
and for the State of WV afterward. He was a law officer in Weston, WV
when the town had thirty saloons.
Minerva ran a milliner shop in Weston. She sold hats, gloves,
scarves, and other notions in her shop.
After Minerva died, Thomas married Anna Jane Butcher.

William Newton Shaw, a son of Thomas Joshua and Minerva Jane
(Fisher) Shaw, was born in Upshur County WV December 11, 1877 and died
in NC in 1975. He married Myrtle Dale Butcher, a daughter of George N.
and Mary Jane (Walker) Butcher.
