2.ALFRED SIMS 1.LEONARD SIMS

Alfred Sims, a son of Leonard and Hannah (Reeder) Sims, was in

Harrison County VA January 1, 1849 and died in Lewis County WV May 30,

1891. He married Minerva Hinzman in Lewis County April 4, 1867. Minerva,

a daughter of William and Margaret (Wetzel) Hinzman, was born in Lewis

County VA June 15, 1847 and died there November 25, 1910.1867.

Alfred served the Confederacy in the Civil War, enlisting in Co C

31st Virginia Infantry, commanded by Captain U. M. Turner, on May 21,

1861. He had blue eyes and light hair and was a farmer. He was wounded

in the side at the battle of Allegheny Mountain and finished the war as

a hospital orderly at Lynchburg, VA.

Alonzo V. "Lons" Sims, a son of Alfred and Minerva (Hinzman) Sims,

was born in Lewis County WV July 17 1871 and died December 27, 1955. He

married Gertrude Arminta Chittum November 20, 1895. Gertrude, a daughrer

of Wesley Taylor and Talitha (Alkire) Chittum, died December 5, 1954.

Children of Alonzo V. and Gertrude Arminta (Chittum) Sims.
