1.CHARLES WASHBURN

Charles Washburn was born in 1744 and died in Hardy County VA about 1780. He married Nancy Rebecca Lowther. Nancy, a daughter of Robert and Aquilla (Reese) Lowther, was born 1744 in Albemarle County VA. He is credited with 132 days service in Lord Dunmore’s War in a 1774 payroll list of soldiers from Harrison County VA.

Nancy married William Henry M. Carder in 1784 in Harrison County VA. William, a son of William Henry M. and Sarah Carder, was born May 19, 1762 in Culpepper County VA and died November 13, 1839 in Harrison County VA.

Alfred Washburn, a son of Isaac and Amelia (Roy) Washburn, was born in Harrison County VA April 21, 1815 and died there between 1854 and 1860. He married Sarah ----. Sarah was born in VA about 1814.

The family was listed in the 1850 Harrison County census. Sarah is listed as head of a household in the 1860 Harrison County enumeration.
