      William M. Westfall was born in VA about 1850. His date of birth is given as November 1848, 1849 and 1850 in different documents. He cannot be connected to any other Westfall family. He married Amanda M. McCartney in Gilmer County WV April 22 1871. Amanda, a daughter of William B. and Phoebe (Riffle) McCartney, was born in VA in 1849 and died between May 1981 and 1900. They are listed in the 1880 Calhoun County WV census. William is listed in the 1900 Gilmer County WV census as a 51 year old widower.

      Don M. Westfall, a son of Delford and Mildred (Miller) Westfall, was born in Gilmer County WV in 1926 and died there April 28, 2013. He married Judy ----, who survives.

      He was a US Army veteran of World War II, with as s Sergeant in th 9th Infantry Division in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
